Well, so much has happened since our trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons, but I need to finish this story up before I start recording all of our other summer adventures....
We pulled out of Tent Village ready to go home but so thankful for the time in both parks. I was glad we were leaving, because it we were about to run out of formula for Lochlan. We had one last bottle of formula! We had 3 hours to get to Jackson Wyoming before the next bottle....
After getting a small break, some last minute road trip groceries and a new love for panini sandwiches in Jackson, we were on the road. The trip was turning out to be quite uneventful (except for a small forest fire or something that was burning), until somewhere in the boonies or Idaho... and THIS happened!
We were driving behind Tony and Ashley and saw the tire blow up and explode little pieces of tire from my dad's trailer he let us borrow...
We left them there and drove back to the next town (which thankfully wasn't too far) and found a mechanic shop! Only it had just closed 10 minutes earlier... at 2 pm.... on a Saturday! Huh?
Anyway. We found a gas station and a nice guy let us take his wrench to try to get the new tire on. While we waited for the guys, the kids found the most gigantic wishes ever!
The kids loved those and were happy to stretch their legs... but look how happy the guys were!
We rolled in to Farewell Bend campground in Huntington, Oregon at about 10 0r 11 pm. We set up camp next to a loud group of individuals who swore LOUD every other word....
The next morning , we were attacked by mosquitos, we discovered that the water was more of a mud hole, and there wasn't much to do there, so while we packed up, Mason and Max played with some new friends we found by the bathroom!
We thought it would be fun to stop at grandpa's and grandma's house to go swimming on the way back, but as we rolled in to the gorge, it started to pour on us! So no swimming, but we did take a break there and had one last stop before heading home. What a fun adventure!
And can you believe it! Tony, Ash and the kids STILL like us :) Some kinda great friends they are! We love you guys! Thanks for the fun trip!
