After another early morning for the guys (who went back to Mt. Washburn to complete the hike we collectively could not), and seeing these mountain top dwelling creatures,
we were on the move again. The first two days of our trip were pretty rainy, but it had been OK 'cause we stayed in cabins. But now we were on to the tent phase of the trip. So we were a little nervous that we would be soaked. When we arrived, the dark clouds loomed overhead and we heard a lot of thunder and felt several small sprinkles. But then after sputtering for a while, we had a lovely evening. Ashley and I did this pinwheel craft with the kids
and also did some face painting.
Then we drove out of Yellowstone again to the nearest town called West Yellowstone to see fireworks. The kids had glow sticks and the lamest sparklers ever (only Cliff enjoyed them for a few seconds before they fizzled out...
The girls were a little frightened and Locke-man was perplexed. But all in all it was a great show.
(One cool side-note on our great nation was that, on this vacation, we saw cars from every state except Rhode Island, Alaska, and Hawaii!)
