Type 1 Diabetes is going OK at our house these days, but there are occasions when we have to give Kaiah an extra dose of insulin for dinner or at bedtime. When that happens we have to check her blood sugar with a finger stick a few hours after she has gone to bed. Most of the time she can sleep through it. But occasionally we have to wake her up and give her a snack if it is too low (usually less than 80). That way she won't bottom out while she's sleeping.
Here's what it looks like trying to wake up Kaiah for a midnight snack....
Out Cold
Muffin?
What about a smile? Will you wake up for that??
Nope.
How about some ice cream? It smells really good...
Now you're talkin'!
Then, she falls back asleep and dreams of kitties and princesses and beautiful flowers...

This photo essay is cracking me up!! That's great. What a lucky* girl to eat ice cream at midnight, my kids would think, not understanding.
Love the pic-ography!! She is so precious!
Why didn't you send her to "Missa-Candy-Chupp's" house?
