We had not heard there was a chance of snow, so when I looked outside and exclaimed to the kids, "Look! It's snowing!" We were all really surprised.
Cambria was taking a nap, but I scrambled to find snow clothes for the other two in our garage by digging through the piles of shoes that are too small, camping stuff from last summer that has still not been put away, old toys, garage sale stuff, softball mitts, two motorcycles that don't work, and several items from REI that Cliff keeps buying at the used gear sales after camping out half the night on the sidewalk to get a good spot in line because the stuff is such a good deal even though we don't need it.... and almost killed myself.
I digress.
I never found Mason's show boots or bibs, or Kaiah's snow jacket, or Cambria's anything... But I got something together just as all the neighbor kids were knocking furiously on the door wanting to know if Mason and Kaiah could play. We are so blessed to have such fun neighbors! They had a great time. And because it stuck so fast, they were sledding in no time on a sled that Grandma and Grandpa had just given them. It was a good thing too, because I couldn't find our sleds in the garage either. I now no longer need to explain why...
Cambria finally woke up as it was getting dark. The kids moved into the back yard on the deck to make a snowman.
It all melted the next morning. :(

The picture of Kaiah with the little snow flakes on her head is stunning; God gave her the perfect combo of features of her mom and dad. :)
