We LOVE Berries

A lot!

And we picked a lot this year. We have 100 pounds each of strawberries and blueberries which are now in our freezer waiting to be made into smoothies and pies and yogurts and other wonderful things :) We didn't pick blackberries like I had wanted to, but honestly, with all those strawberries and blueberries, almost nothing else fits in there.

Maybe Bria was enjoying them a little too much?!
Blueberries were organic, no spray and gorgeously huge at our yearly spot.

Blackberries were huge in early August
Red Huckleberries were abundant while we were camping!

I made several batches of jam but as is my yearly tradition, I failed miserably... It starts out so promising, and then it turns into "syrup" for waffles and pancakes... I really need to find a good canning recipe that doesn't involve 8 cups of sugar! Trying to keep it down for the diabetes stuff. Maybe I'll just give up on that and invest in more insulin! Yep. That would probably work better.

Anyways, I really enjoy Oregon in summer time for many reasons, one huge one being berries of all kinds! YUM!
