Mason's 9th!

Mason's birthday this year snuck up on me... I thought I had a plan. And then it didn't work out. Too expensive. Do you invite all of his friends and have a frantic, busy and short themed party or do you just invite a couple of friends and have an over-nighter? He opted for the later, which he knew meant less presents, and made his mommy very happy :) We were going to do lazer tag, but it was $6 for only 10 minutes per person! That added up quickly!

So Cliff got on the computer and googled nerf war games. What fun they had! We went to a local park and they played for an hour an a half... for free! They loved it so much, we decided we have to try to do it throughout the year.



Then we came home and roasted hot dogs, had root beer floats and brownies, and opened gifts. The boys then watched Prince Caspian in the tent in their sleeping bags on the back deck. When I asked if it was a little scary for them, Mason said, "No way! We're boys! We're not scared!"



Then.... it started to rain.

After about 30 minutes they came in and said, "It's raining (on the verge of tears)... We're so wet!" (Whining) "Can we watch the rest inside?!" :) Me: "What happened to the "We're tough boys bit?" Them: (smiles)

In the morning we had waffles with whipped cream and berries and they played a little bit more before heading home. Fun group of kids. Loving our 9 year old boy! Happy Birthday Mace :)
