We had a really fun game of nerf wars in the Thanksgiving sunshine. In fact, everyone was so hot and sweaty, they all went home to change and shower before we ate :)
One of our neighbors had major advantage as he has some extremely good sharpshooting skills. We didn't know that till after we played and he said it was nice to have some anonimity, as most of his military friends usually gang up on him :)
And it turns out that this guy is a very good cook as well! He offered to cook the whole lunch meal. And it was delicious.
After we enjoyed that, we played games, watched football, did puzzles, and chatted the evening away. As the day went on, more and more neighbors joined in.
We also did a fun scavenger hunt set up by my friend Deborah. She did such a good job with the clues, that the kids returned completely baffled about one of them :)
At one point I saw Lochlan talking to the iPad. When I went to investigate I saw that Andy and Kristin had facetimed. As I was talking to them, I looked back at the kitchen table and noticed that 3 different couples from our condo, who had previously not known each other, were all talking contentedly around the table doing a Star Wars puzzle together. I call that a successful holiday. And now I have my radar out for people in my life, wherever we might live, who need a place to go.
