Feeling Crafty

I've been working on several projects lately... All fun... All time-consuming. I have a ton of blogging to catch up on, but I thought it would be fun to chronicle what I've been up to lately.

I made a sparkly cape out of some material that I used for Cambria's 4th birthday table covering

Then I found a old project to make a soft belt for Kaiah's diabetes pump, but it was too bulky... so it became a neck rest for long rides in cars or airplanes.

After that I made a couple of baby blankets so they will be ready for future gifts.

And embracing my inner hippie, I reproduced the hanging beads that I saw in a shop window at the beach when I went with some of my friends.

They are kind of weird... but they make me strangely happy! When the sun is low in the sky it shines right through them brightening up the place considerably.

Last weekend I spent many hours trying to figure out how to work with a pattern again and I made Cambria a dress that she took off for the first time in 3 days today. She will be able to wear this dress for about 3 years because there is plenty of room... I also made Kaiah some pants and a shirt, but didn't get pics of those yet.

Last, but not least, I free-styled a Cockatoo...
NO LAUGHING!
He absolutely loves it and I had to try to muffle my own sarcasm. I think it's missing the front part of it's forehead...

Anyway, Cliff (a real saint by the way) says he's getting tired of doing the dishes, so I think my crafting days are over for a while... but it was fun while it lasted :)

You ARE amazing, Becks!! I love the bead strings!!! Did you end up using the beads you bought while at the beach?? I am so impressed!! I am about to post a project I've been working on for Andrew's dad. I'm pretty happy with it...but it's just 1 thing. I think the cockatoo turned out great, by the way...I don't know what you were talking about!!!!

I agree, the cockatoo is pretty amazing. In spite of the "face" I made when Mason showed it to me. :) Girl, you have to teach me how to sew... The beads are really pretty. I might have to steal that idea from you.
