The Sugar Bees - JDRF Walk for the Cure

This year was the first year we participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk for the Cure. We joined the "Sugar Bees" a team that Kaiah's friend Naomi's mom started. She invited us to walk with them. My parents came too. It was really neat to see all of the teams supporting their diabetic family members and friends. They had banners and matching T-shirts and all kinds of creativity. Alissa made a bunch of little bee antennae headbands and the Sugar Bees won the award for the most team Spirit and even made it in the JDRF brochure mailer that recapped the event!! Good job Sugar Bees!!

Kaiah got a low while we were on the walk... ironic.

Trying to figure out how many carbs to give her...

Still walking...

So nice to have someone who gets it. We bounce ideas off of each other all the time... Alissa is a great Type 1 mom!

Here's our fam!

And afterward we got to play!

And here I have dedicated the next series to a few awesome shots of my mom (and Lochlan who is just trying to make it through).

The kids had a great time. What a fun event!
