Beeswax Candlemaking

After the honey harvest I remembered that I had purchased a beeswax candle kit at a garage sale last summer and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to pull it out.

They were basically sheets of colored beeswax that are moldable.

A guide was included that showed possible paper/ribbon combinations. We pretty much followed the patterns with our creations.

You have to press hard to get the wax rolled tightly together. Cambria took this part very seriously.

Kaiah did most of them :)

It was so fun I decided that we might make some more for Christmas presents this year... We even burned a couple. They work great!

Not sure why the pencil-love... but here is the candle Bria made for her friend Sara.

My dad used to keep bees and he made many of these kinds of candles when I was a kid. What a fun, easy, pretty and useful craft!

Where did you get the supplies for a good price?

I got the whole set at a garage sale for a DOLLAR! I love garage sales. I've been looking around for a good deal on them and am not having great luck, so if you find something wonderful before I do, let me know :) Thanks!
