This year the costumes were very simple (not like the parrot from last year).
Mason had to return his jersey the next day... easy. Kaiah wanted to be a cook, so I looked up a really easy pattern online, made her a hat, gave a pot and an apron... presto!
Cambria changed her mind 4 times in the last 20 minutes before going out the door. She couldn't decide between a princess, a princess cowgirl, a cowgirl, or some other version of those... Here's what she finally put together. And Lochlan didn't want any part of it. So I sewed some stuffed animal birds onto a coat and called it good. He was so unhappy, I almost put "Disgruntled Ornithologist" on the tape instead. When he realized he had to have a costume to get candy, he was game.
Andrew deserves to have a presence here because he put forth a lot of effort (for an adult). He was an Occupy protester. And here are the kiddos enjoying a warm meal with friends before we all headed out.
Here are all the kiddos. What a group! It was a little bit hard to keep up with everyone. I think the little kids went about every other house :) AND I learned a new trick (totally unintentional of course). But Lochlan kept spilling all of his candy, so I would take it from his bucket after every house and put it in a separate bag. After a while I noticed that he was coming back with twice as much candy! The people thought he didn't have any so they were giving him double :0 And one house, in particular, really loved birds. He came away with about 15 Butterfingers!
Happy Halloween!
