Pen Pals

Mason and Kaiah have new pen pals. One of Mason's new pals is a MK in Cameroon, is his age, home schooled, and has a very interesting life ministering alongside his parents and siblings to orphans! The other little guy is a friend who used to go to the same playgroup as us when the kids were littler. He lives in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates now. Kaiah will be writing to a girl that is going to be a MK in Papua New Guinea after her family finishes raising their support.

Letters to Africa take about 2 weeks to a month to reach their destination. I don't know yet about UAE and PNG. We sent our first letters out a few weeks ago, so I'm sure it will be a few more before we hear anything.

We just got our first correspondence from Arsalaan in the UAE:

And Mason and Kaiah just sent out their first letters. I took pics of them because they are so fun.

I think it's hilarious Kaiah is complaining to her new pen pal that her dad won't let her get a dog and that one of Mason's most urgent questions is what Josh's favorite species is... Also, the pictures they chose to print out are 2 years old! Ha ha! This should be fun. :) The kids are really excited to see if this works out :)

I hope this helps our kids to see more of the world through the eyes of kids living overseas so they can expand their view of how people live differently abroad... at least in Africa, the Middle East and Micronesia...

What a fun idea! The dog comment made me laugh, too. :)
