Basketball, Gymnastics, Zumba!

Fall is usually too busy for everyone to have an activity. And Summer is a time that I don't usually want too structured. So Winter and Fall terms we let everyone do a "sport."

Mason chose basketball with YMCA Hoops. It was really fun this year because our friend Andrew volunteered to be the coach and Cliff helped every other week when he was off work. Some of the best quotes I heard from him during practice were, "Don't just stand there like baby birds waiting to be fed!" and (during a game one time) "That was a good foul!" We just cracked up watching the kids. But really it seemed like this year they were finally getting it! It was faster paced, more skilled, and really fun to watch. They also really improved from the first game to the last.

Kaiah chose gymnastics. She has taken this class once a year for a while now with the same teacher. At home she likes to do bridges while the kids crawl underneath her. It's fun to see her confidence building.

Cambria chose something new... Zumba! Actually I chose it for her because her friend Brielle wanted to do a class with her. It turned out to be really fun... and now we moms want to do it. Anne-Marie found herself filming the teacher as well as the kids during the last class so we could learn :) Cambria's favorite part was "going back and forth" (in one of the routines). They were a-dor-able! The music was really fun too.

Zu-Zu-Zumba!

I made sure to videotape the teacher too so I could learn the routine for Chihuaha. I would sign up for Zumba too...except that I might be too uncoordinated. Remember my failures at step aerobics?? ;)
